I enjoyed a grilled filet mignon with baby zucchini, roasted red potatoes, lobster bread crumbs and espagnole sauce. For an entree, my wife had a roasted rack of lamb with spinach gnocchi, tomato confit and pistachio mint sauce. For starters, we had a colossal shrimp cocktail, Escargot Bouriguignon and a roasted garlic Caesar salad. Open from 5 to 9 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 5 to 10 on Friday and Saturday, it remains a popular gathering place for business people while also attracting the theater crowd and out-of-towners like us who remember how good the lunch menu was. The cocktails I ordered were perfectly made - Negroni (see photo with Bijou embossed cube) followed by Manhattan with rye. Our waiter, Diego was delightful and efficient. The crab meat was much more generous than I would have thought. Three of us started with Avocado Gazpacho with Fresh Crab and it was great for a hot August night in Florida. I assumed there was a bone in the part I took home but it was all meat, a good 1/4 pound! It was a half duck a (large one?) and I needed to take some home for lunch the next day. It was the best duck I ever ate and enormous. I ordered Roasted Duck with Warm Cinnamon Apple Farro Salad. My wife is a big lamb fan and got the Rack of Lamb, finishing every one of them. form, my brother in law ordered Filet Mignon and his wife Orange Miso Salmon. They've remodeled nicely and the meal and service were excellent. It's one of their favorite places in Sarasota but my wife and I hadn't been there in a year or two. Went here with my wife, her sister and my brother in law.
